Dyalog has run user conferences for many years and it is a truly inspiring event with lots to offer.

The grant will cover flights/transport, accommodation, meals, conference fee – and the banquet dinner of course. All the lucky winner needs to bring is his/her project presentation (20 minutes) and be prepared to network with lots of experienced Dyalog software developers from around the globe.

All conference presentations will be supported on LCD Projectors which will simply plug into your lap top. Or, you can bring your presentation on a USB stick. If you wish to show something live on-line, wireless internet access will be available.

The competition criteria
Reports should explain how Dyalog has been used in a research project or during a teaching course.

The criteria for evaluation are:

• Degree of originality for implementing ideas and/or specific use of Dyalog which you implemented in an innovative way
• Presentation of the problem you wanted to solve using Dyalog
• Description of how you solved the problem

Competition rules
By submitting your report you accept that we can publicize your report. We are willing to make small concessions if your report contains information regarding proprietary research not yet made public.

If a winner can not attend the conference – the grant can not be swapped into anything else.

If a winner can not attend the conference Dyalog reserves the right to donate the grant to the runner up.

Dyalog may want to make other reports than the winning report public. Should this be the case we will revert to the submitting party and request permission in each individual case.

How to Enter
In order for your report to enter into the competition for the grant we need to receive it by August 1, 2008.

All submissions will be evaluated during August and the winner will be announced on September 1, 2008.

The winner will be notified directly and will also be announced under News on our website.
